Livermore Lab Foundation
|Description: The Livermore Lab Foundation (LLF), a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in
2016, seeks an experienced, creative and innovative nonprofit
manager/fundraising professional for a new position of Foundation Director.
The LLF is dedicated to advancing science to change the future. It provides a
pathway for philanthropic support of scientific research initiatives, technology
development and educational programs at Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory, a Department of Energy national security laboratory in Livermore,
California. The Foundation also seeks to inspire next generation scientists by
providing access to the Laboratory and support that allows them to live and
work as - and with - scientists.
Currently staffed via a volunteer board of directors and salaried consultants,
the Director will serve as the first employee of the Foundation. This position will
be responsible for creating and implementing the administrative underpinning
of the organization, as well as fundraising for key initiatives and priorities.
Additional staff positions are anticipated.
This is an ideal opportunity for a nonprofit professional desiring to make a
difference via philanthropy for research solutions and programs with a national
and global impact.
|Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree with five years non-profit management and
philanthropic development experience, including major gifts and grant writing
• Exceptional donor engagement skills
• Strong organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program
development, and task facilitation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members, advisors and
volunteers. Previous supervisorial experience with staff or consultants.
• Experience with donor database programs
• Available to work some evenings and possible weekends to attend events
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a face-paced environment
• Previous experience in STEAM (Science, Technology, Education, Art and
Math) related field desirable
