|Description: POSITION INFORMATION
Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of routine and semi-skilled duties in the maintenance and minor repair of parks, grounds, and recreation facilities; operates vehicles and a variety of power driven equipment, such as tractors, mowers, blowers, and hedge trimmers; and performs related work as required.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday - Fridays and occasional weekends.

Education and Experience:
•High School Diploma or GED is desirable.
•Experience in park maintenance is desirable.
•Materials and equipment used in the maintenance of park fields, grounds, landscapes, and facilities.
•Methods and techniques of pruning, trimming, minor irrigation, and weed control.
•Maintaining tools and equipment used in park maintenance.
•Safety practices and equipment related to the work.
•Basic principles and procedures of recordkeeping.
•Techniques for providing a high level of customer service by effectively dealing with the public, vendors, contractors, and District staff.
•Modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications.
•English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation.
•Perform parks and facilities maintenance and minor repair tasks.
•Perform heavy manual labor.
•Observe and follow safety principles and work in a safe manner.
•Work independently and as part of a team.
•Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing.
•Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Licenses and Certifications:
•At time of appointment, California Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.
•Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.
•Medical exam and drug testing clearance.
|Salary: $15.14 to $20.59 per hour |
