Cellar Worker 2
Ruby Hill Winery

Description:  Under the general direction of the Assistant Winemaker and Winemaker, the Cellar Worker II performs a variety of indoor and outdoor tasks in the cellar such as operating crush and press equipment, filling barrels, gathering samples and topping wine. The Cellar Worker II will be responsible for working with lower skilled workers during harvest and bottling operations, operating the forklift, pump operation, cleaning and performing wine additions.

Tasks include:
Forklifting barrels, pallets and bins as necessary
Properly clean and sanitize pumps, hoses, tanks and cellar fittings before and after use
Cleaning, sanitizing and sterilizing all winery equipment and facilities
Racking and pumping of juice and wine; moving hoses and equipment
Assist in vineyard sampling during harvest
Following and observing all safe cellar practices
Work overtime and off hours as required during harvest and bottling
Set up filtrations and check integrity of the wine being filtered
Following written and verbal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Accountable to enforce Cellar SOPs and Safety Procedure
Operate all cellar equipment
Lead by example when working with less skilled workers
Other duties as assigned by the Winemaker
 

Requirements:   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English (Both verbal & written)
Possess the ability to understand production requirements via verbal and written instructions, and pass that along to other employees
Be able to work independently on assigned tasks, and work directly with less skilled workers
Can work overtime, weekends, and any shift during Harvest. In general, we work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week during harvest with no night shifts.
Ability to drive a forklift and become forklift certified
Maintain an excellent attendance and safety record
Ability to drive a manual transmission flatbed a plus
Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
 

Salary:  $20.00 per hour
